Upgrade to SP3

when I applied the sp3 patch to our office XP installation on the Domain - (corp edition managed installation from server ) then Outllook refused to startup on all workstations and just cycled over & over saying outlook did not start correctly and would restart in safe mode ( it wouldn't) and so on I uninstalled the office & removed the SP3 amdin install files from the server and replaced the SP2 install files and everything then reinstalled ok & worked again but I would really like to get the SP3 on _ any suggestions
