upgrade to xp serv pack 3 asking for ms publisher disk.????

I have update message requiring Office X Service Pack 3 update. Asks for the
disc containing MS Publisher - no idea where to find the disc w/this info

Appreciate help

Depending on the version of Office XP you purchased, it should have been
included. Which Office XP version did you purchase?

Tim thanks for replying I am struggling to learn how to use this discussion
group setup but will keep trying - anyway I have XP Pak 2 which I installed
from the original s/w on laptop when I purchased it - I have all the original
discs of s/w but can't find the one upgrade is asking for. Hope this answers
your question - thanks a long and yes, I am a good cook

help request; found yours ok but how do I access the 2nd reply? Is this
always so complicated?

I'm not tim but I can answer this one.

Yes, the MS web interface is that complicated. As a matter of fact, it's a
royal PITA. Try accessing the group with Outlook Express (or Windows Mail)
or even Google Groups. Much easier to find what you need. ;-)

get rid of the blankety blank notification in the system tray icon thanks
somuch! i wish I could just realize I am not a dog with a bone - can't give
up!!

If you don't have the Office disk that has publisher on it, guess you're up
a creek?

I think that Publisher was a separate disk but to be honest with you I'm not
100% sure any longer. I am about 80% sure tho if that helps.

Mary Sauer

Look in the control panel for the folder "program updates", click change update
settings. Disable the reference to Publisher. Read the help item about hiding an
update.
