Upgrade with previous Publisher?

I currently have Office XP professional. I just purchased the office
professional 2003 upgrade but I noticed that even though it says my version
of office xp pro qualifies for the upgrade, the new version has Publisher and
the office xp did not. Will I need to purchase a "regular" version of
Publisher prior to installing this upgrade to ensure that it will work
properly or will it install a full version with no previous version?

You do not need to purchase Publisher.

Install Office 2003 Professional and when ask choose the option to uninstall
prior version.

All will be well.

And Publisher will work too...even though I don't have a previous version on
