I have a new PC and I am trying to install my upgrade
version of office xp. I have office installed in my other
pcs but I don't have the original disk anymore. Of
course, it is looking for a qualifying file and not
finding it. Am I out of luck?

You must have the previous version istalled or the CD available to verify.

And why would you not keep the disks?

Hey, I tried to install my upgrade of office 2000 on the
c: drive in OS XP Home and it couldn't find a qualifying
product which this computer has from Works. I tried the
D: drive which is my CD rom drive and presto it
installed. Try all the drives you can. Good Luck
