I just updated from Outlook 2003 to 2007 yesterday.
When I send emails in Outlook 2007 from one of my existing email accounts,
they sit in my Outbox. I checked the account settings and tried to send a
test message and received "None of the authentication methods supported by
this client are supported by your server."
Per some of the posts here, I've tried two things. 1) Checked the setting
to log into my incoming mail server first to send messages. When I did this,
the test message was successful. I then tried to send emails from this
account and they sit in my outbox still (even after closing and re-opening
outlook).
2) I unchecked the settings that any authentication was needed to send
emails for this account. When I did this, the test message was still
successful. I then tried to send emails from this account and they still
stil in my outbox (even after closing and re-opening outlook).
Here is something I noticed. Some of the emails will leave the outbox (if
addressed to an MSN.com address or one of my other POP3 accounts I have set
up in Outlook 2007.) Others, one in particular address to an sbcglobal.net
address will never go not matter what I try. All these message contain the
exact same body for this test. And it appears that emails with more than
one address will not leave the outbox.
Anyone have any idea as to what might be going on besides the
"authentification" method settings? I've used Outlook 2003 for years and
never had a problem with this account and now that I've upgraded to 2007, I
can't seem to figure out why some emails for this one account sit in the
outbox.
More information: The Send/Receive status in Outlook says "completed" but
the Outlook send/receive status indicator in the task tray blinks like crazy
showing that it's trying to send these message.
HELP! Thanks - Rhonda
