Upgraded from FP 2000 to FP 2003, and now hoover buttons don't work

I recently upgraded to FrontPage 2003, and when I open my web site I
see the hoover buttons, but when I switch to preview they are gone,
replaced by an x in the upper right corner of the space the button
should be in. I'm afraid to upload the updated web site until I get
this fixed.

Reappearance and Revenge of the "Hoover" Buttons!

I dont believe FP2003 has "hoover" buttons, but it does have Interactive
Buttons....which have in some ways replaced the java applet hover buttons of
previous versions, mainly because Windows XP does not come with JVM by
default.

Hovers are deprecated and replaced by Interactive Buttons
- but still available in the tool well
View Toolbars Customize Commands - drag it from the Insert Menu to your tool
bar

Hi Andrew,

Actually, they are still there, but you are correct, in that they
were not working due to no JVM. I installed the JVM, and
they started working.

I actually tried to replace them with the Interactive Buttons,
but FrontPage told me Interactive Buttons where not allowed
there, and greyed out that option on the Insert menu. Very
disconcerting, since it failed to mention why they were not
allowed, and I could not find anything help about it either.

Thank you for your help.

FP IB are not supported in shared borders
- use a DWT instead of shared borders

Hi Stefan,

Thank you! I hadn't even heard of Dynamic Web Templates, till
you mentioned and I looked them up in help. That looks exactly
like what I need. I didn't see anything in help about IBs not being
supported in shared borders, so I'm really glad you replied.
