Upgraded Office 2000 to XP, do I need Office 2000 SR-1a update?

I upgraded my Office 2000 Pro to Office XP Pro, the update site says I need
the Office 2000 SR-1a update. Do I really need it since I am using Office XP
Pro?

I would advise a clean install of Office XP instead of an upgrade

get the removal tool for Office 2000 from MS to remove almost all traces of
Office 2000 and install a fresh copy of Office XP, and then install the
latest update for Office XP

Hi B.E.,

Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control
Panel to see if you still have 2000 series Microsoft
apps installed. Office XP would usually not remove
Office 2000 apps that it did not have a newer version
of to install for you.

Having any of the Office 2000 family apps will generate
the prompts to install Office 2000 updates. If you
have Office 2000 apps then the SR1A update is a major one.
