I have just upgraded from Windows office 97 to Windows
office XP Pro. During the installation process I blindly
thought that my saved E-mails and personal address book
would be transferred over in the process. I have searched
the MS knowledge Base and have come across Article-
299008 the article was previously published under
Q299008. I am not sure if this article applies to me and
my problem i.e. Are my E-mails and address book
recoverable ? can they still be viewed and lastly am I
able to import them to Outlook2002.My OS is XP.Thanks for
any help with this problem as I have run out of ideas and
places to find a answer to this. Peter

In my thread re: upgraded from office 97 to XP pro the
knowledge article was 288442 as well as 299008 Peter

Well, I'm not much into Outlook, but a quick look at those articles seem
to indicate that they'd apply in your situation, Peter.

Search your harddrive for *.PAB (address book) and *.PST (email) files,
then import those.

Oh, when I said "import" the PST file, that's not really what I meant.
You just need to open that file, I believe.
