Upgraded to Office XP, not able to view pictures in word & color .

Upgraded to Office XP Professional (OS is Window XP Professional), all
inserted pictures and coloured text boxes cannot be viewed on previous word
document (prepared in same office version), but could be viewed under preview
function. Inserted clip arts are OK. When click on the picture location, it
recognizes the picture is there, so bring picture to the front, picture
reappears, but again disappears after bringing another picture up front.
Colored text boxes only show the text, when right click to format, the color
and line fill show blank and not the actual color of the box. I had already
unchecked the picture placeholder and checked drawing under option, also
updated Office SP3. I have no problem with the previous computer running the
same system. I already went in to start >run >command to check CD is not
damaged and it did indicate Office was successfully installed. I am thinking
is a set up issue. Thanks.

Try clicking on Start | Control Panel | Accessibility Options | Display |
uncheck the "Use high contrast" box | OK.

Sorry garfield, I could not find this posting until now by typing in my name.
However, I did use your suggestion from other postings by turning down the
acceleration setting to low which disabled all Direct 3D & Direct Draw
funtions. It works except some graphics imported from Corel Draw started
showing in slow motion. I did contacted ATI about the Radeon 9600 card
problem, they had been troubleshooted since end of Dec with no solution and
asked me to find solutions from Microsoft which I did with no reply. Finally
this week, I resolved the issue by using the CAT-uninstaller from ATI to
completely uninstall and install their newest driver issued in January
directly from their website. Now I can turn my acceleration back to full and
able to see all the pictures and graphic from Corel Draw are OK too.

Thanks
