We upgraded from Office 2000 to 2003 and the pst file format still says
97-2002 in Outlook 2003, therefore users are halted from sending email at 2GB
and prompted they need to cleanup their mailbox. We are not using Exchange,
is there anyway around this limit? Thnx!!

In OL2003 File>New>Data File........by default it will be unicode
Set this as the default mail store
If neccessary copy mail, contacts etc to this

The upgrade does not & cannot convert the old data file

PS I'm not sure, but I believe if you get this err msg it maybe that a
registry setting has been enabled for max pst size and if that is the case I
dont know as to whether this size limitation would still be applicable to
the unicode pst also.
OL, pre 2003, does not usually give any err msg if the pst goes oversize

No, this doesn't apply. There are different warnings and restrictions for
UNICODE and ANSI formatted pst-files which you can configure. Setting one
doesn't affect the other.
