Upgrading 2000 to Developers Ed

I've been on this trail for a long time and am just confused. I have Office
2000 Premium and I write small Access applications, but would very much like
to be able to compile my small applications and distribute them to people
who do not have Access. Is this possible to do without me having to lay out
a lot of money? If so, how?

I've seen on eBay a copy of Microsoft Office 2000 Developer + premium 2000
for about GBP £150. I also found on the internet a free download from
Microsoft called ART2KMin. I got all excited because I thought I would be
able to compile my Access 2000 programmes but discovered that I have to have
the Developer's Edition, which I haven't.

Is that price reasonable? It's on "5 Genuine disks" whatever that means.

It appears to be the whole program rather than an upgrade. Would I have a
problem installing it if I already have Office 2000?

Will I then be able to compile Access programs and send out .exe files?

Hope someone can shed light on this for me without too much jargon, or I'll
get even more confused.

Thanks
Laura TD

Laura,
I can't tell you whether or not the price is a good one, because I don't
know the exchange rates, but you do have to have it to create a distributed
version. However, you will not be able to create a .exe file of your
application. Access doesn't have that functionality. What you can do is
install a license free runtime version to distribute to people who do not
have full Access installed on their computers.
