Upgrading Access

F

Fred Worthington

Greetings:

Currently, I am using a standard version of Office 2000 and a stand-alone
version of Access 2000. I want to upgrade to the current version of Access.
Is there any benefit to upgrading Office as well, and are there any
detriments to ugrading Access without upgrading Office? I am particularily
interested in resolving issues associated with Office Service Patches that
might impact the performance of Access. Does upgrading Access automatically
install the latest Office Service Patches, or will I still have to do that
manually?

Thanks . . . Fred

I can't speak for the other Office products, but Access 2000 wasn't one of
the better versions. Access 2002 was certainly better, and it's a little too
early to be sure about Access 2003.

When you purchase an upgrade version, you get whatever version was current
when the media was created. Odds are there will be updates that will have to
be downloaded.
