upgrading and giving away the old

R

Randall

I want to upgrade to Office 2003 then give my Office XP to
someone else. How can I do that so that the next person
has no registration troubles?

When you install an Upgrade version of MS Office, the qualifying (older)
product must be kept with the newer. Open Word or any of the component
products of your current copy of Office XP, click Help, go to Contents - End
User License Agreement (Retail) - Questions about the End-User License
Agreement - and look for the question:

Can I sell or give away old versions of my products when I acquire an
upgrade?

Answer - No. Because the original full product and the upgrade product
together are considered a single software unit, you must retain the old
product as part of that unit.
