Upgrading computer

I m looking to upgrade my pc to Microsoft Office Professional 2007, I have
researched the Web, and I seem to be finding different info as to what kind
of programs I need on my pc before I upgrade...

As such, many stores (that sells these programs) say that I need Window
Server 2003 with Service pack 1 or later...

On the Microsoft website I have not found any mention of this.
Now, please, what do I excatly need on my pc before I go ahead and buy a
program that I may not be able to install!!!

Any information will be very appreciated

Thank you Garfield for your answer, but maybe I was not specific enough. The
page your refered me to says:
"Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 2, Windows Server 2003 with
SP1, or later operating system2"

How should I read this?
Is it either Window Xp SP 2 OR Windows Servier 2003 with SP1.
In other words do I need both of them, or simply one or the other???

You need one of the following operating systems:
a. Windows XP with Service Pack 2, or
b. Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1, or
c. Windows Vista.

To both of you, thank you for your answers. Most probably the answer in
itself was obvious, but in this case I wanted to be sure, before I went ahead
and spent money needlessly.
