Upgrading Entourage

Version: v.X
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC

I'm using Entourage v.X but am frustrated by the 4GB storage limit. I want to upgrade but have two concerns:

1. Do the upgrades (2004 or 2008) still have the storage limit issue?
2. Can I transfer my existing folders from one version to the other?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, they do not. But 2004 is no longer available from MS (although you might
be able to find it on the web.

I don't recall any trouble with folders transferring from X to 2004 when I
upgraded several years ago. I don't know about 2008.

Entourage 2008 has trouble importing Entourage X using the import process,
but you can manually move over your data.

If you do find Office 2004, you need to be aware that it will reach "end of
life" in January 2010.

Microsoft's "Support Lifecycle Policy" is stated on Microsoft's website.

In a nutshell, Microsoft will support a consumer level product, such as
Office:mac, for five years after release or for two years after the
successor product is released, whichever is longer.

If you need VBA, try to find Office 2004, but if you have basic needs and do
not use Exchange, get the Home & Student version of Office 2008.

It was $129.99, but it's now $109.99.
