Upgrading from Academic to Word X

I have Word 2001 academic version that I bought while working for a
university. Now I want to purchase the retail Word X upgrade. Does
anyone know if this will work?

Yes, Word 2001 qualifies for upgrade to Word X. Academic version should not
make a difference IMHO.
