Upgrading from MS Office 2004 Test Drive

I¹m new to Macs. Should I backup my entourage file before upgrading from the
2004 test drive? If so, where is the entourage data file (ala PST) file
located?

The Entourage database is in the Microsoft User Data folder in your
Documents folder. You don't need to back that up specifically (although
it's a good idea periodically).

Note that you need to remove Test Drive before installing Office 2004.
Use the Remove Office application on the 2004 install CD.

JE is indicating that the Microsoft User Data folder is not removed when the
Test Drive is removed, so you're in no danger of losing your Entourage data
by the removal process. As you seem to know already, and as JE says, you
must use the Office Remover to remove the Test Drive before installing the
paid version.

Finally, since you're going to be using Entourage regularly, you should
indeed be backing up your Microsoft User Data folder specifically more than
just occasionally - you should be backing up regularly - daily, or weekly at
least, if your email and contacts info matters to you. But not in relation
to the Office Removal process, just for its own sake.

My Office Test Drive was PRE installed. Where do I find the Uninstall?

I was under the impression that the Remove Office application was in the
Test Drive folder (possibly in an "Additional Tools" folder inside the
app folder).

If not, it's in on the Office 2004 install CD. search for "Rmove Office"
(without the quotes).

(Typo: "Remove Office". And it's in that same place - the Additional Tools
folder inside the Microsoft Office folder.)
