Upgrading from Office 2K to Office XP

I currently have several databases on a server that were
created using office 2K. Some of my users want to use
Office XP to access these databases, while others want to
keep using Office 2K. When the file is open by a user
that has Office XP and they select convert database. Will
the users with Office 2K still be able to access that
database? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
