Can I upgrade my copy of Office V.X (standard edition) to Office 2004
Professional by simply buying the Office 2004 prof upgrade (and not
the full edition)?

Yes, but the only difference between the Pro and Standard editions is price
and the inclusion of Virtual PC/WinXP in the Pro package. If you already
have VPC, it might be cheaper to upgrade to VPC 7 and get the Office 2004
Standard...

In the US market, the price difference between the Standard and Pro
upgrades is about the same as the price for the bare VPC 7 upgrade
(without a Windows OS). Thus, Windows XP Pro is essentially free with
the Office Pro upgrade.
