Upgrading from Office XP Standard to Pro?

A friend of mine got a Dell with Office XP Standard
installed, but wants to also have Powerpoint. Has
Microsoft offered an upgrade path for this, or is he
looking at purchasing the full version of Powerpoint '02?

Hi Steve,

My guess is that your friend has Office XP
Small Business Edition (OEM-new PC only) as
Office XP Standard edition includes Powerpoint.

MS does not consider moving between editions
of the same Office version an upgrade

but the PC supplier may have a policy for
allowing an upgrade from Office XP Small Business
Edition to Office XP Professional + Publisher (OEM)
