upgrading from outlook express to Outlook but cant send/recieve

I have imported my old emails and done everything else I can think of but I
can't send from outlook and my new incomming mail doesn't go into Outlook 2003

What happens when you try to send? Did you set up your mail accounts in
Outlook?

I set up accounts and tested fine but when I click send/rec nothing happens
to my inbox or outbox. The message at the bottom says send/rec complete.

This is going to sound like a stupid question but is there anything in the
mailbox for Outlook to receive?

yes I have 3 outgoing emails and I tested sending to myself from a hotmail
account

Have you tried removing & readding the account?

Tools menu > Email accounts. All the options you need should be there

Yes I did that before I posted. I also went to help to verify that I did it
correctly.
