Upgrading Office XP to Office Professional 2003

I received my Office XP software from Penn State while I was a student. It
was provided free of charge to all students and faculty. Now, I want to
upgrade, and purchased Office Pro 2003. Am I going to run into problems
since I did not purchase the original Office? I also have Works on my
computer, but it was preinstalled on my computer.

Also, I currently have a laptop and a desktop, but we are planning on
getting a new desktop to replace the current one. Will I be able to install
Office on the new computer if it has already been installed on two computers?

As long as it's not a bootleg copy, and it's not Office XP for Students
and Teachers, you're fine using it as a qualifying product to upgrade to
Office 2003. Works is also a QP for upgrade to Office 2003, so you're
covered twice. Doesn't matter if the QP came preinstalled or if you
purchased it yourself or if Penn State gave it to you. See

Thanks so mcuh. I had read a lot on the Microsoft site, but couldn't find
out for sure about the Office from PSU since I don't have a license. Its a
legal copy, but they own the license or whatever! I don't really understand
all of this!

Thanks!
