It will upgrade seamlessly. But before you do, think about whether you're
also planning to migrate to enterprise project management via MS Project
Server. The only time there is any difference between Project Standard and
Project Professional is when it is used in conjunction with Project Server.
If you anticipate eventually moving to enterprise level project portfolio
management, then go ahead and deploy MSP 2003 Pro. Otherwise save your
money and stick with Standard. If you deploy Pro without Server, you'll
find virtually all the menu items that distinguish it from Standard are
greyed out and unavailable.

My company uses Project 2002 standard. We'd like to upgrade to
professional. We're thinking that since we're upgrading anyway, we could
move to 2003 professional. If we purchase the 2003 professional, will it
upgrade the 2002 standard?
