upgrading to full version of office

i have recently bought a new laptop where the office package was already
installed. when i try to upgrade to the full version of office the product
key on the bottom of my laptop on the authenticity label will not be
accepted. what do i do?

Look at that label again. It's for Windows, not Office. Completely wrong
product. Also, I'm hoping you have a full version of Office on that system
and not just the trial version.

The key on the bottom of the laptop is for Windows, not Office. To upgrade
to the full version you will need to purchase a retail copy (unless you
previously had a valid version of Office that would qualify for upgrade
pricing.) Amazon has been the cheapest source recently for the retail and
upgrade products. If you have Works 9 on the new system that does qualify
for the upgrade.
