Upgrading to Office 2003

Douglas

I am considering buy Microsoft Xp Ofiice Professional
Software, I understand that the bundle of programs is the
2002 version. Microsoft is due to release Office 2003 at
the end of Sept. What is Microsoft's policy about a free
upgrade for persons purchasing the earlier version so
close to the release date. I need software now but I
don't want to have to pay for the upgrade in just 30-60
days.

Hi Douglas,

MS has announced its policies for upgrades by Volume
License holders, but as yet has not set a date for
a technology guarantee period for retail (single sale)
Office 2003 upgrades.

In addition to what Bob has said, Microsoft has, in the past, only given the
Technology guarantee for folks who purchase the older software 30 days prior
to the retail release of the new package.

So, I would wait until you see the announcment that Office will be released
at Retail, at which time Microsoft will probably announce details of any
technology guarantee, if there is to be one.
