Upgrading to Office Pro 2003 from OEM Pro 97

I have a Dell with an OEM version of Office Pro 97.

I need to upgrade to Office Pro 2003. I *know* that the upgrade will work
fine with the Dell I currently own.

When I buy a new PC in 18 months will I be able to use the upgrade version?

Sometimes, it seems, that an upgrade package wants the original CD and
othertimes it requires that the software be installed.

What about Office Pro 2003 upgrade?

Thanks

MS Office 2003 retail upgrade packages do not need to have the software
installed if you have a Microsoft branded Office 97 product CD.
In some cases, if Office 97 was part of an OEM created
'recovery CD' then the Office 2003 upgrade package
might not recognize that you have a 'qualifying product'.

I have a separate MS Office 97 Pro CD....so, it sounds like an upgrade should
work fine.

Thanks for the help.
