Upgrading to Office SBE 2003

I recently bought two new computers, a desktop and a
laptop. I ordered an OEM version of SBE 2003 thinking I
could use it on both installations. The laptop came
first so I loaded it there from the CD. When the desktop
came I loaded it there also only to encounter the product
activation system. EULA review shows the OEM version is
only permitted on one installation. So I have painted
myself into a small corner. The desktop came with Works
7.0 which makes it eligible for the upgrade version of
SBE 2003. Does anyone know if removing the unactivated
version from the desktop and installing the upgrade from
Works to SBE 2003 would work?
Thanks,
Bill

There are many posts concerning OEM, pre-installed Office software problems
Never assume that the licensing is the same for retail vs OEM.

Thanks. I understand that I have to buy another copy but
Microsoft shows the Works 7.0 is eligible for the upgrade
of SBE. Does the fact that Works is OEM prevent buying
and using that upgrade?

The very reason you should purchase your very own copy of the Office software you want to use
Non dependant on OEM licensing.....
