Upgrading Visio 2000 to 2003

I am trying to upgrade a provious installation of Viso Standard 2000 (which
was itself an upgrade of Viso Express) to Viso 2003 Professional and get an
error message something like "cannot find the qualifying Visio 2000". The
help says that the previous version may not be in the directory that Viaio
2003 is looking for - but does not say where Visio 2003 is looking. Can
anyone advise what is the location that Visio 2003 looks for to validate the
previous version of Visio 2000?

The current oldest version of Visio that qualifies for upgrade is Visio 2000
SR1, the first version of Visio released by Microsoft.

Visio Corporation released Visio 2000 just before it was acquired by
Microsoft. After the acquisition, Microsoft re-released Visio 2000 with SR1.
SR1 fixed a few problems with Visio 2000 and added the Microsoft branding to
the product. For a while, SR1 was available as a free download from
Microsoft so that Visio's Visio 2000 could be upgraded to Microsoft's Visio
2000. The download is no longer available.
