Upload file on a web form issue

P

Paul

Directly on my ISPs web site server (FP enabled), I have
created an "upload" folder on my FrontPage web site and
an upload form. All went well till I tested it. It asks
for a username and password once I click submit.

I read Knowledge Base article 299763. When I check
properties on the "upload" folder, all the check boxes
are grey'd out.

I've played around with all kinds of settings, but
haven't found the one(s) that would enable the "Allow
anonymous upload to this directory" box to be "checkable."

Any guidance would be welcome.

I have the same problem with the "dimmed boxes." I have been
successfully using my FP created form for sometime, but now have the
need to add the file upload to it. I create and save to the site in FP
exclusively. What can I do to get it to work?

From reading some older threads, I wondered if I needed to ask my host
to 'turn on' some FP extention options at a server level. I asked
them. They sent me back this link :
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;288716 which
essentially says "Apache servers do not permit uploads as a security
feature to protect from attacks." Seems I (and perhaps many others of
us) are out of luck unless we move to different web hosts or someone
has a clever work around.

No workaround for Apache servers
