UPLOAD FILE

I have been able to put a component onto a web page that allows you to upload
a file, but when the page is published and you actually browse, choose and
file and hit upload, you get a message box that asks you to sign in to
complete the process. I am not sure how to make the upload file component
work without it delivering that glitch. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Are you talking about the FrontPage upload component?

You need to check with your host to see if they have set the permissions
correctly.

The upload component will only work on a Windows server running
FrontPage 2002 extensions.
To set the permissions on the upload folder:
open the remote website in FrontPage
Right click on the folder the files are to be uploaded to
Choose Properties
Clear the box "Allow scripts to be run"
Tick the boxes "Allow anonymous upload to this directory"
and (optional) "Allow uploaded files to overwrite existing filenames"

Note that you will not be able to run any PHP, asp or asp.NET pages in
this folder.
