Upload Mail Mssg. To Server

B

Britt

Hello,

I am a new user to Outloook. I mistakenly had account settings such that
Outlook would delete mail from my online account once it had downloaded the
mail. If sometime I choose to use my old mail program (since outlook is not
included in the student version of Office 2007) I would like to be able to
download all of my mail again. Is there a method to upload the mail that
Outlook downloaded and deleted by to my mail account online? Thanks, Britt

if you have imap access you can upload it, otherwise no. But just save and
reuse the pst and you'll have all your old email. BTW - you'll be better off
to buy outlook to go with the student version - the apps with behave better
and the cost will still be very reasonable.

OK, Thanks for the response.

I do have the option of either POP3 or IMAP. I set the account to use IMAP.
What is the next step I need to take to upload mail?

You are right about purchasing the full version of Outlook, but I have been
using Thunderbird for a year or two now and so far I think it has a better
way to handle junk email. That might change as I learn more about Outlook.

after adding the imap account, change the pop account to leave on server or
remove the account but leave the pst - drag the items from the pst to the
imap folder.
