uploading pictures to webpage using microsoft publisher 07

Hi,

I created a webpage using microsoft publisher 07. I previewed the
page before I published it and it looked great. I put it on my FTP
and when I clicked on it to view it on the Internet my pictures are
not there (there is a red x near them). My pictures are saved
as .jpg's
In a previous discussion, it was suggested to upload the index_folder
for the pictures on Microsoft Publisher. I am just wondering how to
go about uploading that folder. It does not appear on my FTP when I
publish my page.

I'm a Publisher 2000 website user and maybe the method I use may or may not
help.

When I do a "Save as a website" it creates one or more html files and
several image files and no folders.

My next step is to upload all of the html and image files into a public_html
folder on the server using a ftp.

I've learned recently that it is best I be very clear that I use Pub 2000 or
I become guilty of misleading.

Unless you are using forms on your website you can use FTP uploading
protocol. If you are using forms HTTP uploading will be required. There is
also a troubleshooting article.

Thanks Don. Publisher 2007 uses "Publish to the Web" to produce the html.
"Save As a web page" is the method for Pub 2000.

No problemo! MSFT doesn't make it easy on you. Pub 2002 used two different
approaches depending on the SP. Pub 2003 and 2007 can produce html via Save
As a web page, but that produces "unfiltered" code full of Office tags and
other bloat.

If you ever do buy one of the newer versions Don, be sure to not overwrite
Pub 2000. You may find yourself using 2000 more than the new
versions....especially for web pages.

I don't do as much publishing as in past years. I used to put out a monthly
newsletter for the lodge but now it's member directories, installation
dinner invitations, ID cards, name badges and monthly meeting postcard
reminders. Once in awhile posters for spaghetti dinners, festas and a few
other odds and ends. Enough to be fun. Then of course, out website and
sites for two other lodges. hmmm.... the list seems longer than I thought.
