Uploading web pages created in Publisher 2003

Ellen

I see I'm not alone in having problems uploading web
pages created in Publisher 2003. I have tried every
avenue and still get two error messages when publishing
to web--"URL not found" and "FTP poxy settings--set to
allow access".

I, too, had no problems uploading my pages from Publisher
97 and Windows 98SE, but this is just crazy and very
frustrating. I have managed to figure out the design
changes in the two versions of Publisher, although after
going through the painfully long process of dragging and
dropping my index files into my ftp folder in order to
publish them to the web, the photos do not show up on my
web page.

I am also having problems with 2003 changing files
from .jpg to .pgn(huge) files.

ANY suggestions at this juncture would be of tremendous
help!! Thanks in advance.

I've yet to have a poster having upload issues that the issue was with
Publisher. In fact I don't know what method you have for uploading (dropping
files?) but it evidently isn't using Publisher.
Upload issues typically result from having the incorrect url for uploading
or from there being an issue on the server end that the host needs to
resolve.
Having the correct url is something I explain and stress in my uploading
tutorial at www.davidbartosik.com/ppt.htm I highly recommend you take a look
at it. It explains how to publish with Publisher. Uploading with Publisher
will correct your issue of missing images. That is a result of your not
uploading them, a topic I again cover in the tutorial.
Take a look at my FAQ page and review the tutorial and you'll likely resolve
issues.

As for the png's, well nothing you can do there. That is a 'new feature' of
version 2003. I talked about what you'll get into with version 2003 at
