upon shutting down computer states updates available

I keep getting a message that there are 2 updates for my computer - 1 is
Outlook 2003 and 1 is for Junk Mail Filter - my comuter states that I those
updates are already installed in the computer. Then every time I go to shut
down my computer there are instructions that "if I wish to update my computer
- click here" and "if I don't want to update my computer at this time - click
here" How can I get rid of that message when my computer says that it
already has these updates.

The presence of the recurring installation is more likely a symptom that the
installation is failing and that those updates have never been installed.

The better option is to determine why the updates are /not/ installing
correctly.
