Someone gave me idea of copying Upper/lowecase stuff in Excel, paste it into
Word, make it all Uppercase, then copy and paste in back into Excel.

Does not seem to work??

Seems to paste back into Excel uppper/ and lower.

Are you sure you're copying it from Word, or did you re-paste the
Mixed/lowercase text from the Clipboard?

Try pasting back into Word - does it paste in Uppercase?

Ok JE:
I went back and copied the upper/lower doc into Word. Then made that doc all
Upper. Then I selected that. Then I copied that to a new Word document in
Word to verify, and it worked -- copied all upper. Then I immediately went
into Excel and made a new workbook and hit command V to paste, and the
document pasted in upper/lower!

Could you give a step by step description of the changes you make in Word?

From your description, I suspect that you're not using the "Format > Change
Case..." option. I can obtain the results you're describing when changing
the display with "Format > Font..." and, there, checking the "All caps"
checkbox. This only changes the displaying of the text to caps, and when
copied to Excel would give the results you describe. Modifying the case with
the "Format > Change case..." option should give the expected results.

Thanks Bernard, yes you are right!

I was using something I put in the toolbar called All Caps.

Actually, as I went to print, this trick seems to have introduced a problem
with merged cells -- very messy.
