Urgent - Access2000 & instant messenger

I have 10 users (for now) on a midsize system in
MSAccess2000. The IT person wants to install instant
messenger on all p.c.'s. I had read somewhere that this
can compromise the database (with the constant popups) --
and am concerned that this will cause more problems than
not.

Susan,
The entire IT group @ my firm uses AOL IM while keeping a MS Access Db
that I've developed open (Call Tracking) and I haven't had any issues as of
yet (2 years).
