Urgent: Data Access Pages

I am trying to create a data access page using linked table from my back end.
My issue is when I select a table as the recordsource I get an error 'object
no longer exists'? It is there and has data. What is wrong?

Also, when I try to create the page using the wizard I get

'the wizard is unable to create your data access page.'

but why? No explanation, No Error to look up? Is there a config somewhere
that I need to set first?

I seem to be able to create it in the back-end but not the from end? Why?
