Urgent! Fail to Add resources from Project Server 2003

L

Li Wei

Hi,

I meet a problem when trying to add resources from project server 2003 to
project 2003 pro.

The detail is:
I've already defined some active windows authenticated user in project
server 2003. When I try to add these users by using the "Add resource from
Project Server" in project 2003 pro, project 2003 pro will bring up a
enterprise resource dialog with no resources I can find (no matter how I
defined the filter or disable filter)!

The DC server is Windows 2000 adv.

Any idea to resolve this problem?

Thanks a lot!

It sounds like you created user accounts in PWA, but you did not add these
users as resources in the Enterprise Resource Pool. You must add resources
using Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Resource Pool. Click the
Open/Add button and add your resources in the Resource Sheet view.
Double-click each resource and add their Windows User Account. Save and
close the pool when finished. Hope this helps.

Project User isn't Enterprise resourse untill you are add him to the pool.
1. Start MSP Pro.
2. Tools -> Ent. Options -> Open Ent. Res. Pool
3. Insert -> New Resource from.. -> Actrive Directory (or..)
4. Edit costs + other info
5. Save
6. Close all project pro windows
7. Start MSP Pro
8. Open your project
9. Ctrl+T - add resources to your project

Hope it's help
