Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC I have accidentally created a loop and now I have 5,000 messages and counting trying to download. Is there a way to stop them? I have stopped all in the progress window, but I need a permanent solution. Any ideas?

Well you’d need to tell us how you created the loop.
If it is a rule for instance, you could get in Offline mode, delete the
loop and get back to online mode to clean up the mess (without having
additional messages generated in the process).

Well, I'm not quite sure. I think it was when I responded to the client's ticket.

The text of the message that keeps getting sent is the Bounce message..."you opened a support ticket with an e-mail we don't recognize, etc." I don't remember creating any rules.

Any additional ideas? And thanks for responding.

Oops, I forgot which forum I was on. I had also posted this question in the forum for the software in question. Ignore the above post.

I didn't create any rules in Entourage, though, that would do this. Any other ideas?

The big question remains how this loops gets generated.
I suspected that you had an auto-reply, replying to itself (fairly
common in discussion lists unfortunately).
Do you have some sort of auto-reply setup?? On your mail server for
instance? If yes you need to deactivate it.

Okay, I think I finally got the deluge stopped. Now the problem is to figure out how to get rid of the 35,000 e-mails waiting to download. I've already erased them from the server so I don't understand why Entourage is still trying to download them.

Any gurus out there who know how to do this?

In answer to Corentin, the problem is with WHMCS which helps me manage my reseller hosting. I finally banned the mailer-daemon address in WHMCS and that stopped it.

It has something to do with how I replied to a client's support ticket. I've opened a ticket with WHMCS and hopefully they'll help get it figured out.

As for here, I hope someone can help me stop Entourage from wanting to download 35,000 e-mails.

Delete on the server and empty the trash (you might have forgotten to
do the later).
I believe there are tools out there that can help purging e-mails from
the server, but if you managed to delete them on the server already it
shouldn’t be necessary.

The other option is to wait for it to all download :->
