This might be really simple, but i am unsure. Someone turned off the server
which holds the stock.mdb database on it while it was being edited by our
book-keeper, now this morning i have tried to enter some new items of stock,
and on the admin account (all permissions granted - ie open/edit database,
edit design etc) it will not allow insertion of a new record in form or table
view and previously there have never been any problems. please help! someone!
my neck is on the line here!
cheers

Once you have followed all of the instructions below and fixed the database,
make sure that you split the database and run each user's front-end from the
workstations, only connecting to the data on the server. While this
corruption could have happened on a split database, it frequently happens on
one being run from the server.

First, always work on a copy of the database. Working on the original may
make it impossible for a repair service to fix it.

Download a copy of JetComp.exe:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;273956

Also have a look at the Microsoft KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;209137

Then have a look at Tony Toews' Access Corruption FAQ at:

http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm

for some suggestions. Unfortunately, some corruption cannot be fixed - you
may need to create a new database, import what can be salvaged, and recreate
the rest.

Although it's a paid service, Peter Miller does an outstanding job of saving
corrupt databases. Try this URL:
