Urgent - How to customize Project Approval Status in Project Center from PWA

Hi,

Greetings!

I'm trying to figure out as to how approval process works with
creating projects. For e.g. In our organization, Projects could be
created by any member from PMO team. Later, it has to be approved by
either Senior Management or PMO Head. Once the project status is
approved, then tasks and timesheet information can be captured against
the approved Project. Is this something which is already present in
Project Server 2007 or we have to build some custom interface for
this?

Any inputs highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Dilip

You should use the new Proposal feature of Project Server 2007 for this
purpose. To createda proposed project, a member of the PMO team should
create a new Proposal. He/she can create a skeleton task outline for the
proposed project, and can staff the project by either building a team and
assigning resources to tasks, or by creating a Resource Plan. After saving
and publishing the Proposal, Senior Management or the PMO Head can approve
the Proposal, and then the PM can convert the Proposal to an enterprise
project. Hope this helps.

Tx Dale for the reply. I tried the proposal feature but the workflow
section is not coming when I'm creating a new proposal. I have read in
the documentation, that I can "add an Approver" and also the status
can be set like "Approved", "Rejected" etc. But don't know how to get
the workflow section in PWA. I'm the administrator and have all
rights. Is this a separate feature to enable? Could you please guide
me?

Thanks and Regards,
Dilip

I believe you need to set up the workflow process in WSS. Hope this helps.
