Urgent - Please Help! Access 2002 Input Mask Problem

I have recently upgraded my Access 2000 application to
Access 2002.

Suddenly all the input masks I have set for my currency
fields eg. ######.## do not work!

The user is no-longer prevented from entering characters
into the field.

When characters are entered I get the message:
The value you entered is not appropriate for the input
mask 'specified' for this field.

Input masks appear to be ok for fields with a datatype of
number but not currency.

Any help most appreciated!
