URGENT! Problems opening attachments

When my colleague opens attachments from Outlook 2003 (Typically word
or
acrobat) the program has a tendency to hang for about a minute before
the document is accessed.

You can navigate around the rest of the system, it seams to be only
this process that is affected.

with the task manager running you can see that the system idle process
is
running at 99% throughout this time.

Has anyone any ideas as to how to sort this as neither reinstallation
nor using the Detect and Repair utility has had an effect.

Andrew,

I have seen similar issues and would run anti spyware e.g. Adaware and Spybot. Also make sure all the latest patches are on the system.

This has resolved this type of issue for me many times.

May also want to create a new Outlook profile to see if there is not some corruption within the profile itself.
