Hi,
We are in the process of migrating our organization from Exch 5.5 in NT to
Exch 2K Win2K. All Mailboxes and Public Folders
have been move to the new Exch 2000 successfully and now I'm at a point
where I want to Shut Off my Exch 5.5 but when I do so
I stop receiving and sending emails. I followed the instructions given in
article Q152959 (How To Remove the First Exchange Server in a Site)
and reconfigured the company's firewall to reflect the new changes and
still no Luck. I feel like I'm missing a major step in this
process. Any ideas?
When I shut down the Exch 5.5 the following Event ID comes up in the
Application Log
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeMTA
Event Category: Interface
Event ID: 9318
Date: 11/6/2003
Time: 12:59:38 AM
User: N/A
Computer: NEW-EXCH
Description:
An RPC communications error occurred. Unable to bind over RPC. Locality
Table (LTAB) index: 153, Windows 2000/MTA error code: 1753. Comms error
1753, Bind error 0, Remote Server Name OLDEXCH [MAIN BASE 1 500 %10] (14)
Thanks,
Louis
