URGENT!# Virus question??

G

Guest

I'm running ClamXav on my microsoft folder and it is identifying a problem
in my main identity:

Exploit.HTML.ObjectData FOUND and is quarantining my data base... Apparently
these were attached to emails from some WIN users, but it is moving my whole
database out.

What should I do about this??

Hi Jeff-

I am not familiar with ClamXav from a usage standpoint, so I don't know
what to tell you other than to contact whatever support network the
developer may offer. Even though it is affecting MacOffice files, there
is nothing within MacOffice to control other software.

Just for future reference, it took me only a few seconds to locate this
article on ClamXav

http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2005/08/19/clamav.html?CMP=OTC-13IV03560550

which indicates it is pretty impressive, but also states

Thanks. I guess the problem is that I cannot narrow the virus in the
database file to a single email, so that I might either alert the sender or
delete the message. But thanks again.
