Hi

Get the owner of the project to add to you to the team

Tools > Build team from enterprise

When they next save the plan (and close it if you are opening to edit) - you
will have access

This is based on out of the box security - if you have altered the security
model you may get different results - let me know

Hope this helps :)

helloall

Dear Sir,

I would like to thank you trying to help me out.

the current situation is the following:
the message
can not connect.
project was unable to establish a connection with the selected project server
this could be caused by a loss of network connectitivy
invalid user name or password
lack of enterprise global template
or problems with the project server or database
or your project server may not have enterprise features enabled

the situation:
1- from account properties: project has successfully connected to the
specified serve
2- while connecting from PWA the web page already recognize the user name
as it is domain user name currently logged on and I specified Windows
authentications for most screens during installation
3- the menu option of Build Team from enterprise is not available for clicking
it is dimed out no matter how I logged on eithe as administrator of Domain
controler on the server machine it self which is already defined user in the
PWA

thank you for your care.

ahmad.

Ahmad

Please confirm You are using Project Professional 2003 not 2002?

You have selected the Windows Authentication option

Your account is a member of the Project Managers group or Administrators group

Can you login through any other project desktops - is this isolated to just
this machine.

Can you create a Project Server authentication account and connect through
this ...e.g. the adminsitrator account or an account added to the project
manager group

Ahmad ... I will be online here for a while ... so if you can answer the
above ... we can get this sorted quickly :)

helloall

it is MS office Project Server 2003

the windows authenticated option is selected

the user is member of the followings groups: Team Members, administrators,
Project Managers, resuorce managers

PWA can be accessed from any computer:
for computers already memeber of the domain they do not ask for user name
and passwords
the domain user name is automatically appears in the welcome statements
for computers not member of the domain but accessable throw the network
they will
ask for user name and password and when supplied they put in the welcome
statement
the name of the corresponding domain user supplied in the log on screen

when creating an account in the project server and trying to connect throw
that account
from a computer not memeber of the domain it will ask for a user name and
password in the
log on screen and will not accept that username and password as it says in
the top
connecting to server.. and apperently it is not a domain user

when creating an accout in the project server and trying to connect throw a
computer
already logged on as a member of a domain
the computer is not giving me the chanse of supplying user name and password
it gets connected directly as the domain user already registered for that
computer

I do not know how to thank you
I am really new for MS product other that Office
thank you very much.

ahmad.

Hi

When you go to the enterprise accounts

Tools > Enterprise Options > Microsoft Office Project Server Accounts

There is an option to connect automatically or manually

If you want to attempt to connect through different "Project Server"
accounts you can select manual which will then prompt you for which account
you want to connect with (or work offline)

If you want to attempt to connect with a different Windows authentication
(assuming you have added a Windows authenticated account to the Project
Server accounts) you can merely log on to your machine as the other user and
then attempt to connect to the project server.

Just to be sure - when you open the account properties and click the test
connection button - you do get a positive response from the server?

helloall

Dear Chris,

I started fresh day with a fresh hope,

thanks for helping
the situation is as the following:

when I connect to to PWA it recognize the domain user automatically.
and open the information about the projects:

1- the authentication of windows is working properly
2- the database and it's link to the project server is fine

when I tried to change from manually to automaically I could not access to
the project
server directly from the project professional
although after logging in offline I could after connect and test the
connection to the
server with successfully

the only reason left to be checked and is listed in the error message is the
lack
of Enterprise global template:
it this sounds logical for you would you please tell me the steps to create a
global enterprise template.

thank you
ahmad.
