I have a word doc or word template which contains keyword show as follows:-


$CUSTNAME$
$CUSTADDR$


Dear Sir,

RE: NOTICE OF TEMINATION ACCOUNT

As per the agreement,............

ITEM A $ITEMA$
ITEM B $ITEMB$
TOTAL .....................

Those keywords enclosed in the sign($) will with the appropraite data form
the database before the printing the document.

The question is how to total up those keyword with numeric ? Can i do in the
word?

Hi KHT

The standard way to work with text in Word is to use bookmarks to identify text,
or a location where you need to manipulate text.

Anyway insert your ItemA ... $ItemA$, ItemB ... $ItemB$, Total ........ into a
table. In the cell to the right of "Total" add a fields that contains the
expression:
{ =Sum(Above) }

the braces characters "{}" are inserted using Ctrl+F9 not by typing them. When
you've added them move the cursor between the brace characters and insert the
text shown above. Now press Shift+F9 to hide the field codes and display the
result. Now press F9 to update the fields.
