URL displayed at bottom of browser

Is it possible to change the displayed url at the bottom of the browser
window when you mouse over a hyperlink. Im using a secondary domain to store
large images and thumbnail images that are displayed on my main web site.
Both images are stored on another domain. The problem is that when a user
points to the image that is displayed on my main domain page, the path to
the location of the larger image is displayed on the bottom of the browser.
This might confuse my user. Is it possible to change the path that appears
at the bottom of the browser window to something of my own choosing?

Please offer an alternative solution then. I have tried the script and it
seems to work beautifully using internet explorer. Are you aware of an
alternative that will work everywhere?

No. Sorry. I don't know of any way to reliably mask that information, nor
do I want to know, since it is something that visitors find useful.
