I have two machines with Outlook 2007 on them, both with Firefox set as
the default browser.
On one machine, clicking a link in an email message opens the URL in a
Firefox tab very quickly (pretty much instantly).
On the other machine, the Outlook message window will show that
scrolling/animated gradient while it "thinks" for a period of time
before it sends the URL on to the browser. This is always at least 4-5
seconds and sometimes as much as 25-30 seconds.
I've poked around a bit to see what the differences might be... both
machines are the same in terms of hardware and the OS. Both have the
same version of Firefox and installed extensions. The only difference
in their Outlook configurations is that one machine (the slow one) is
pointed at an Exchange server while the other (the faster) is fetching
from a couple of POP accounts.
But it's not the fetching of email that's the issue... it's simply that
I get a lot of messages with links I need to go to and one machine is
horribly slow.
Any ideas on what might be causing that slowdown? Configuration items I
might check?
Thanks,
