The acronym stands for "Uniform Resource Locator". A URL is a name
like the ones used for web pages. More information is at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Url (and that link is itself a URL).

Now, can you explain why you asked this question in a newsgroup
devoted to graphics in Microsoft Word?
